Our Projects

Education Project
At Candlelight Empowerment, we believe that education is a fundamental right for every child. Since our founding, child sponsorship has been at the heart of our mission, helping us ensure that vulnerable children are not left behind.
We are committed to making inclusive, quality education accessible to all girls and boys, regardless of their background. Our goal is to ensure that every child can start and complete pre-primary, primary, and secondary education, in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education by 2030.
Through strategic programs and community partnerships, we work to remove barriers such as poverty, gender inequality, and lack of resources — so that every child can learn in a safe, supportive environment.
Prevention of violence against children
The Prevention of Violence Against Children (PVAC) project is a comprehensive, community-based initiative aimed at creating safe and supportive environments for children and adolescents. Funded by the Children’s Rights Violence Prevention Fund (CRVPF), the project focuses on strengthening child protection at home, in schools, and within communities.
In Kanamai and Mtwapa, Kilifi County, Kenya, PVAC works to build the agency, resilience, and well-being of vulnerable children and youth through awareness, advocacy, and local action.
Candlelight Empowerment is proud to be one of three partner organizations implementing this initiative through the Kilifi PVAC Cluster. Together, we are committed to ending violence against children and ensuring every child grows up in a safe, nurturing environment.

Menstrual Hygiene Project
The Prevention of Violence Against Children (PVAC) project is a comprehensive, community-led initiative dedicated to creating safe, inclusive, and protective spaces for children and adolescents. Funded by the Children’s Rights Violence Prevention Fund (CRVPF), the project strengthens child protection systems across homes, schools, and communities.
Operating in Kanamai and Mtwapa in Kilifi County, the PVAC project aims to empower vulnerable children and adolescents by building their resilience, agency, and ability to thrive, even in challenging environments. Through a mix of advocacy, education, and local partnerships, the project addresses root causes of violence and promotes sustainable change.
Candlelight Empowerment is honored to be one of three implementing partners under the Kilifi PVAC Cluster, working closely with local stakeholders to reduce the prevalence of child abuse, neglect, and exploitation. Our collective goal is to create communities where every child is safe, valued, and protected.
